March is National Nutrition Month, a nutrition education and information campaign created annually by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. The campaign focuses on the importance of making informed food choices and developing sound eating and physical activity habits — and for this year, the campaign theme is “Eat Right, Bite by Bite”.
We are so excited about this this year’s National Nutrition Month theme, Eat Right, Bite by Bite. This month, we encourage you to introduce fish to your #LittleSeafoodies or try something new at your family table. Every little bite of nutrition is a step in the right direction.
We love seafood because there are over 500 species of delicious seafood to select from and they all pack so many nutrients that are beneficial to your brain, heart, eyes and many other parts of your body! Even better, you can enjoy seafood in many forms like canned, frozen and fresh.
Later in the month (on March 11), we will celebrate National Registered Dietitian Nutritionist Day, which is meant to increase awareness of RDNs as the indispensable providers of food and nutrition services. Here at SNP, we recognize and appreciate the commitment that RDNs make to help people enjoy healthy, balanced lifestyles.
As you celebrate with seafood this month (and all year long), be sure to thank a dietitian for helping make us all healthier and consider taking the pledge to eat #Seafood2xWk.
